Have your products changed recently?
We have changed our packaging to a new modern design – but the products are still the same! There have been a couple of minor tweaks to a couple of the products but they still have the same taste and all the same benefits.
Are there any food or drinks that I should avoid when taking our iron products, Floradix or Floravital?
Certain food and drinks compromise the absorption of iron, so it is best to avoid them around the time you take your Floradix or eat an iron-rich meal. These include, coffee, eggs, dairy, fibre, tea.
When is the best time to take Floradix Liquid Iron?
In most cases the best time to take Floradix is 30-60 minutes before food or a couple of hours after. Floradix is best taken on an empty stomach unless you are particularly sensitive to iron supplements, in which case, try taking with food.
To facilitate iron absorption, fruit juices that are rich in vitamin C can be drunk. Floradix Liquid Iron can be diluted with fruit juices or water if required.
Can I take Floradix or Salus products alongside my medication?
If you are already on medication, you should always consult a GP or pharmacist before taking a herbal or nutritional supplement to check whether there are any known contra-indications. It is also advisable to check the insert leaflet with your medication.
Can I take more than one of the supplements at once?
This depends on which supplements you are considering taking. You must consider whether you are doubling up or taking too much of a particular vitamin or mineral and also consider if there are interactions between the ingredients, in which case you may need to leave a gap between taking. Are the products suitable for vegetarians?
All our products are suitable for vegetarians and many are suitable for vegans. There is a tick box on each page highlighting which products are suitable for vegans, as well as whether they are gluten-free, wheat-free, yeast-free, dairy-free and lactose-free.
Why do the liquid products need to be refrigerated?
Our products are completely free of any chemical preservatives and therefore to prevent the product from going off, it is important that once opened the bottles should be refrigerated and stored upright. Once opened, the liquid supplements should be used within 4 weeks. The fresh plant juices, should also be refrigerated and used within 2 weeks.
Prior to opening, you can store the bottles in a cool, dry place (15-25 ̊C)
