Sustainability
Protect and preserve
At Salus we are passionate about sustainability. If you love nature, you should protect its resources.
Our entire company is geared towards climate neutral action: we produce our own electricity from hydropower and solar energy.
At Salus we have our sustainability checked regularly through external audits. We have been working with the worlds most demanding standards for over 25 years: Sustainability management system EMAS.*
In 2020 we expanded it to include social issues with EMASplus, becoming the first health food company to do so.
We continually check where we can improve and become even more sustainable. Our results and goals are examined and certified by an independent body. For over a quarter of a century, we have worked systematically and continuously to improve in all areas of sustainability – from climate protection to packaging, from supply chain to our employees. We publish the results of our work every three years in a sustainability report, in which our activities, our ecological balance and goals in the area of sustainability are transparently communicated.
This principle expresses what Salus has been passionate about since the company the company was established in 1916.
The healing power of nature has been inspiring Salus for over 100 years. With a love of people and nature, it has long been a mission of Salus to focus on climate neutral and sustainable activity to protect and preserve diversity.
*The environmental management system EMAS is structured in accordance with the requirements of EC Regulation No. 1221/2009 (EMAS III, Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) and the international standard DIN EN ISO 14001 and is regularly checked by an independent, state approved environmental verifier.
